Tissue-Tek AutoTEC® a120 Automated Embedding System
The Tissue-Tek AutoTEC® a120 is an Automated Embedding System that eliminates the need to embed tissue specimens manually to form paraffin blocks.
The combination of the AutoTEC® a120 technique and the Tissue-Tek Paraform® Sectionable Cassette System enables embedding of various types of specimen tissues. It also enables anatomical orientation from excision to thin sectioning.
This eliminates the risk of anatomical misorientation and tissue loss and therefore ensures patient safety.

Automated embedding function
The Tissue-Tek AutoTEC® a120 is the industry’s first and only fully automated embedding system.
The automated embedding process eliminates the cleaning process of washing and scraping paraffin blocks required when embedding manually and enables the consistent production of paraffin blocks of the highest quality.
The optimal workflow is ensured by the fully automated embedding process that produces up to 120 cassettes per hour. In addition, the instrument has four input doors and output doors, which enables the continuous production of paraffin blocks.
Also, the automated embedding process ensures that all blocks are not scratched and eliminates the need for additional scraping.
The large 15-inch touch screen control panel provides an intuitive and optimal graphic user interface that displays all information at a glance, making the automated embedding process easy and fast to operate to achieve incomparable convenience.
New functions
Based on seven years of experience in automated insertion, customer feedback, Japanese engineering expertise, and high-quality manufacturing techniques, the Tissue-Tek AutoTEC® a120 is designed to provide easy routine operations, improved human engineering, minimal maintenance, and unrivalled convenience.
A new function to read the cassette barcodes for LIS are included.
SMARTair™ is also included. This is an advanced air blower that ensures traceability of specimen blocks and optimizes the block quality.
Furthermore, since the paraffin reservoir is on the front, it is easy to refill paraffin.
Access to the input doors and output doors, paraffin reservoir, and base molds are redesigned, making the instrument easier to use. The operation time was improved by minimal maintenance need based on human engineering.
